Wrapped: Pretty in Pink, Grad Party Edition!

For Shayla’s grad party, she was inspired by a very glamorous Tik Tok- how Gen Z, I know! I will link the inspiration video below! She wanted balloon arches, photo walls, fun dessert, and plenty of good music! Shayla’s dad is a chef who has owned a few restaurants so he took over the main food, while HM Events handled the rest.

For the photo wall, we used balloons, a pink photography backdrop, and wrapped packing boxes with wrapping paper to have some fun props next to Shayla and her friends. I used my Cricut maker to cut out cardstock letters "GRAD" to tape on the boxes to stand out.

For the popcorn bar, we started with 2 balloon arch kits from amazon, linked below, and added more balloons from there! For the “Popcorn Bar” pennant, I also used my Cricut and got some fun ribbon to hang them up from. We got a variety of salty and sweet toppings, 2 different flavors of popcorn, and even Chex Mix to change it up a little! After doing some research on the best way to keep popcorn fresh over a long period of time without heat (AKA a popcorn machine), the overall consensus was to have pre-popped popcorn. The reason being the pre-popped corn stays fresher for longer. Versus if we used microwave popcorn and left it out, it would become stale and chewy. We got ours from a local popcorn store- Popcorn Charlie & Co., based out of Davenport, IA. It was amazing and we love supporting local businesses when possible!

For the centerpieces, we wanted something simple and cute. We found a great deal for bulk carnations at Sam’s Club online, and the vases are used from a previous event! The rest of the decorations came from deal shopping at places like Party City, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, and Walmart! I found a fun bird cage to use as a card box, and used the book Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss as a cute sign-in book to look back on!

All in all, the party was a blast for all the guests. From dancing, to karaoke, and all the delicious food to share with family and friends, I wouldn’t have wanted anything more, Happy Graduation Shayla!

Until the next event!

XOXO,

Hailey
